CAIRO – 12 October 2023: The National Coalition of Civil Work launched Thursday a nationwide campaign for blood donation in support to the Palestinian people hit by Israeli airstrikes, in fulfillment of the instructions of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

The campaign is led by the foundations of Orman and Life Makers in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population. Ambulances are touring public universities in tandem with the preparation of a caravan that consists of humanitarian and medical aid, food, and doctors.

The Egyptian Coalition for Civil Work had announced Tuesday preparing a caravan that consists of medical aid, food, and also doctors for Gaza Strip, also implementing the directives of President Sisi.

The chief of state had stressed earlier Tuesday that Egypt was committed to Arab issues, and mainly the Palestinian Cause.

"Egypt is intensifying its efforts to halt the military confrontations, and as a result, save Palestinian lives," President Sisi said pointing out that, "the current escalation is so dangerous and has consequences that can jeopardize regional security and stability."

"We’re communicating with all international powers and influential regional parties to accomplish an immediate ceasefire and pacification that would preserve the lives of civilians on both sides," President Sisi stated.

Egypt called Thursday, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on countries and organizations aiming for providing aid to the Palestinians in Gaza Strip suffering because of Israeli airstrikes, to send the cargos to Arish International Airport which has been designated by Egyptian authorities to receive international aid.

The ministry negated the closure of Rafah Crossing with Gaza Strip at any point since the beginning of the crisis, clarifying that the crossing’s basic facilities on the Palestinian side had been destroyed because of recurrent Israeli strikes, and as a consequence, it could not operate normally.

Egypt demanded Israel to refrain from targeting the Palestinian section of Rafah Crossing so it would be restored in a way that would allow providing support to Palestinians in Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health indicated Thursday the figures of deaths and injuries in Gaza Strip and the West Bank. In the former, they recorded 1,354 and 6,049, respectively. In the latter, they amounted 31 and 180, respectively.
