Sisi congratulates Egypt’s Al Ahly on 'historic' win of 11th African Champions League title

CAIRO – 12 June 2023: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi congratulated Al Ahly SC for winning the 11th African Champions League title after defeating Wydad Casablanca of Morocco on Sunday.

In remarks delivered by Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmi, Sisi congratulated the club and the Egyptian fans for the victory, praising such “historic” achievement.

Sisi also praised the high spirit shown by all members of the team, saying it “reflects the strength of will and determination for winning.”

The president expressed his wishes for continued victory for Egyptian sports in various games and tournaments.

The Egyptian giants won the African Champions League after scoring a late equalizer to grab a 1-1 draw against Wydad Casablanca in the second leg of the final that secured a 3-2 aggregate victory.
