Egyptian FM receives phone call from Greek counterpart

CAIRO – 18 April 2023: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry received Tuesday a phone call from his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias to discuss developments in Sudan as well as matters of bilateral cooperation.

There was congruence among the two ministers on the dangerousness of the situation in Sudan, the necessity of an immediate ceasefire, and the importance of dealing with the conflict as an internal affair that no foreign parties shall meddle in.

The Egyptian and Greek ministers agreed on maintaining coordination in the coming period to build on the outcomes of the former's visit to Athens earlier in April, and to continue consultations on regional affairs of joint interest.
