Cairo - 2 April 2023: The Egyptian state and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been linked for decades by strategic relations and extended partnerships in various issues. These bilateral ties have been strengthened by the national unity, and the will for development of the leadership of the two countries.

In its lengthy Sunday report, the Saudi Okaz newspaper celebrated the development of Egyptian-Saudi relations in various fields, stressing that these relations have always been the main reason for the stability of the Arab world and the entire Middle East region.

The newspaper stated in the report that the bilateral relations are characterized by strength and continuity, due to the great status and capabilities enjoyed by the two countries at the Arab, Islamic and international levels. The two countries are the poles of relations and interactions in the Arab regional system, and the similarity between the Egyptian and Saudi policies leads to rapprochement on many international problems and issues, as well as Arab and Islamic issues.

Okaz's report continued, "Bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt are witnessing a remarkable development, as they are historical relations based on strategic cooperation and continuous coordination between the two countries which represent the poles of relations and interactions in the Arab region."

These relations are nurtured - according to the report - by regular visits between the leaders of the two countries, in addition to military, security and economic visits aimed at exchanging views of interest between Riyadh and Cairo.

The Saudi newspaper added in its report that this relationship, with the support and guidance of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Muhammad bin Salman, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, reached the level of strategic partnership through the establishment of the Saudi-Egyptian Coordination Council; and signing mutual agreements, protocols, and memorandums of understanding.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt enjoy a strong influence on the Arab, Islamic, and international levels, which makes coordination and continuous political consultation between them crucial, to discuss all regional and international issues.

Saudi Arabia is one of the main countries that supported the foreign reserves of a number of countries during the Covid-19 epidemic, including Egypt, as it provided a deposit of $3 billion to the Central Bank of Egypt, in addition to previous deposits of $2.3 billion.

The report also touched on the contribution of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in enhancing development efforts in Egypt through the Saudi Fund for Development, as the fund’s contributions amounted to 8846.61 million riyals in 32 projects in vital sectors.
