Sisi discusses support for Sinai community as part of national strategy

CAIRO - 2 April 2023: An advanced and integrated development trajectory in Sinai should be followed to invest in the human factor, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi told several officials Sunday.

The president was briefed on the most prominent axes of community development efforts for citizens in Sinai. That includes strengthening social protection and job opportunities based on medium, small and micro projects in areas that represent a comparative advantage for the region. 

Efforts to raise the level of health, educational, cultural, and sports services were also presented.

The meeting also dealt with existing and future programs to advance community development efforts for Egyptian citizens from Sinai. 

Sisi said the National strategy in Sinai is to support the society in the peninsula at all levels through solidarity and coordination between various stakeholders in the country.

The meeting included Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Defense Mohamed Zaki, Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of Social Solidarity Nevin Al-Qabbaj, Minister of Local Development Hisham Amna.
