CAIRO -17 July 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met with Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Sobah Khaled El Hamad El Sobah at the Itihadeya Castle on Monday. They met to hold talks over the formation of a mutual supreme committee to develop cooperation between both countries on all levels and scales.
President Sisi expressed his state's gratitude for the unforgettable Kuwaiti stances and supporting the Egyptian people. The president stated that the Kuwaiti Prince Sheikh Sobah El Ahmed Al-Jaber El Sobah is a great Arab value and that his highness represents wise leadership.
Sisi stressed the Egyptian state's eagerness to continue mutual consultancy and coordination on all international and regional issues.
The meeting included discussions over regional affairs and challenges, especially the Qatari crisis. The Kuwaiti foreign minister displayed his state's attempts to find a solution with Qatar.
The president stipulated that Egypt's foreign policy is based on non-intervention in other states' internal affairs. He is expecting that principle to be reciprocal in its relations with other countries.
Sisi also highlighted the importance of combating pro-terrorism policies, and attempts to destabilize and destroy Arab countries.
On the other hand, Sheikh Sobah manifested his state's keenness for security and stability in Egypt, stressing the importance of intensive coordination and consultancy between both countries during the coming period.
The meeting was also attended by Egyptian Foreign Affairs Minister Sameh Shokry and the Kuwaiti Ambassador in Cairo Mohamed El Thoweikh.
Shokry and his Kuwaiti counterpart met in Cairo on Monday to discuss the Kuwaiti mediation, resolve the Qatari crisis, and to hold talks over bilateral relations. They also discussed methods to strengthen them for further cooperation on different levels. They want to achieve the aspirations of both Egyptian and Kuwaiti people.
