Egypt to see drop in temperatures, unstable weather starting Monday night

CAIRO – 9 March 2023: Many areas across Egypt will see a drop in temperatures and unstable weather conditions starting Monday night, according to a report by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) on Thursday.

In Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt, temperatures will drop to highs of 20 and lows of 12 on Tuesday, down from 27 and 15 respectively on the previous day.

In the northern coasts, temperatures will drop to highs of 19 and lows of 11, down from 23 and 13 respectively on Friday.

South Sinai will also see slight decline in temperatures to record highs of 26 and lows of 15 respectively, down from 27 and 15 currently.

Northern Upper Egypt will see a drop in temperatures by 8 degrees to record highs of 21 on Tuesday, down from 29 on the previous day, according to the EMA expectations.

Southern Upper Egypt will see a decline by 5 degrees to record highs of 21 on Tuesday, according to the EMA.

There is also a good chance for moderate rain in the northwestern Egyptian coast that may extend to Lower Egypt on Monday.

On Tuesday, the EMA also expects moderate rain in the northern coasts and northern Lower Egypt.

Also, there will be a chance of light to moderate rain in southern Lower Egypt, Suez Canal cities, Sinai, and the Red Sea governorate, which may extend to areas in Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt on Tuesday.

Light to moderate rain is also possible on Wednesday in the northern coasts and northern Lower Egypt, the EMA said.

The EMA noted that the state of unstable weather will affect areas in northern Egypt that extends to northern Upper Egypt, Sinai, and the Red Sea governorate.

Weather in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, South Sinai, northern Upper Egypt, and the northwestern coasts will be warm this week, the EMA expects during the day time.

However, southern Upper Egypt will see hot days and all areas nationwide will see cold weather during night, the EMA added.
