CAIRO – 7 March 2023: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Tuesday the storming of the Palestinian Jenin Camp by Israeli forces, which has incurred three deaths and 10 injuries.

Egypt stressed its rejection of the recurrent Israeli attacks that are intertwined with killings, destruction of properties, and demolition of houses.

The country asserted that the aggressions are a blatant violation of international law, and could trigger instability in the region as well as deterioration of security and humanitarian conditions on Israeli-occupied Palestinian lands.

The statement urged international actors, primarily the United States, the European Union, and member states of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), to put an end to the Israeli unilateral escalatory measures. That is in addition to creating a suitable environment for the efforts of pacification and peaceful settlement to come to fruition away from the existing ruinous violence circle.

Egypt reiterated that only a serious constructive dialogue would achieve sustainable peace and peaceful coexistence between the Israeli and Palestinian peoples. The statement noted that the dialogue must have at the core a political willpower to accomplish the two-state solution, providing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967 having as capital Eastern Jerusalem.
