CAIRO – 3 March 2023: Egypt is ready to develop all aspects of political, economic, cultural and parliamentarian relations with Denmark, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry said.

Shoukry made the remarks in a meeting on Friday with his Danish counterpart, Lars Rasmussen, on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue conference held in the Indian capital, New Delhi, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Egyptian foreign minister congratulated Rasmussen on assuming his post.

Shoukry extended appreciation for Denmark’s hosting of the ministerial meeting on climate action in Copenhagen last year, affirming that he looks forward to participating in the upcoming ministerial meeting in the Danish capital.

The meeting between the two ministers also discussed a number of issues of mutual concern and followed up on the outcome of the latest climate summit, the ministry said.

The ministers also discussed the implication of the Russia-Ukraine war, the candidature of Denmark for the UN Security Council membership, and development support for the countries of the south.

Shoukry and Rasmussen also discussed the coming visit by the Danish prime minister to Egypt, the statement added.

Shoukry held a number of bilateral visits over the past days on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting in New Delhi.

The Egyptian top diplomat held bilateral talks with his Argentine counterpart, Santiago Cafiero, Brazil’s Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
