CAIRO – 1 March 2023: The bodies of four Egyptians who have been killed in a car accident in Kuwait have been repatriated, Egypt’s Consul General in Kuwait Heba Zaki said the Consulate said on Tuesday.

A car overturned in Kuwait’s Al-Jahra governorate, killing four people and injuring three others. One of the injured died on Tuesday, upping the death toll due to the crash to five.

In remarks to the Egyptian state’s news agency MENA, Zaki said the consulate is following up the situation of two Egyptian nationals who were injured after the third injured man died.

Zaki added that the consulate immediately took the necessary measures to bring home the bodies of the victims and follow up the health condition of the other nationals.

According to a recent statistic, prepared by Kuwait’s Central Statistical Bureau in February 2022, the number of Egyptian workers has become the highest in the country's labor market.

The number of Egyptian workers in Kuwait has totaled more than 456,000 workers, representing 24 percent of the workers in the Gulf country.
