Greater Cairo sees light to moderate rains

CAIRO – 1 February 2023: Several separate areas of Greater Cairo witnessed on Wednesday light to moderate rains, along with a noticeable decline in temperature.

The Meteorological Authority indicated that the temperature over Greater Cairo has reached 17 degrees, and that the wind speed is 21 knots.

The latest satellite images also indicate to a cloud cover that blocks the sun's rays, accompanied by rain in separate areas of Greater Cairo as time progresses, and rain clouds continue to multiply over the north of the country, with varying intensity.

The Meteorological Authority also expects that, Thursday, will witness more decrease in temperatures in, so that cold weather will prevail in the early morning, moderate during the day, over Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northeastern coasts, and northern Upper Egypt.

Light to heavy rains are still expected on the northwestern coasts, north Lower Egypt, the northeastern coasts, and central Sinai, at intermittent intervals.

As for temperatures, Thursday:

 Cairo: highs of 18 °C and lows of 10 °C

Alexandria highs of 17°C and lows of 9°C

Matrouh highs of 16 and lows of 09

Sohag highs of 19°C and lows of 07°C

Qena highs of 19°C and lows of 08°C

 Aswan highs of 20°C and lows 09°C
