CAIRO - 24 December 2022: Alexandria Governorate witnessed heavy rains on Saturday, in light of the unstable weather the governorate is exposed to, due to a depression that passes over the Mediterranean Sea and affects Alexandria weather.
 
The bad weather is expected to last until Saturday. 
 
For its part, the Alexandria Sewage Company announced the lifting of the state of emergency and maximum preparations, and advised the citizens of Alexandria to follow the following instructions:
 
Reducing the movement of cars during the rainy periods, in order to allow rainwater harvesting vehicles to move easily and conveniently.
 
Avoid driving at high speeds exceeding 60 km / h, and maintain a safer distance than usual.
 
Rationalizing water consumption during the rainy period to reduce pressure on the sewage networks to absorb the largest possible amount of rainwater.
 
Avoid standing under the balconies of old and dilapidated houses.
 
Avoid staying in open places during the occurrence of lightning and not approaching fences, metal objects, lampposts and railroads to avoid the risk of electrocution.
 
Major General Muhammad al-Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, emphasized raising the degree of preparedness and emergency in all service and vital sectors in the governorate, to deal with the expectations of the Meteorological Authority, which states that the governorate is exposed to light to medium chances of rainfall.
