CAIRO – 19 December 2022: A video, published on the Ministry of Defense website, highlighted the development that was implemented in Sinai during the past period.

The video interviewed number of Sinai residents along with other officials who expressed their happiness and gratitude for the recent development that was happening during the past period regarding projects and services within the area.

Egypt’s government has taken upon itself the process of continuous development in all parts of Sinai, due to its return to its previous era as an attractive area for investment and tourism.

The video also emphasized that Sinai has become a very normal governorate, as all of its residents are living peacefully after imposing security and safety all around it.

More than 400 Egyptian companies are currently working on several development projects in North Sinai, according to the video, most of them are nearly finished including Al-Arish port development project.

Egypt have countered terrorism and extremism ideologies over the past years since the ouster of late Muslim Brotherhood President Mohamed Morsi.

In February 2018, the Army launched a military operation titled "Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018," targeting the hotbeds of terrorists nationwide especially in Northern and Central Sinai

However, in October 2021, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi declared the cancellation of the extension of the state of emergency throughout the country.

“It is my pleasure to share together this moment, for which we have always striven with hard work. Egypt has become - thanks to its great people and loyal men - an oasis of security and stability in the region; hence, I decided, for the first time in years, to cancel the extension of the state of emergency throughout the country,” says President Sisi on his official Facebook page.

“This decision has been made by Egyptians themselves over the past few years throughout their honest and sincere participation in the efforts of development and construction,” he added

“When I declare this decision, I do remember, with honor and respect, our heroic martyrs, without whom we would not have achieved safety and stability,” he continued.

“Together, we steadily move forward to a new republic, with God’s help and support. Long live Egypt, Long Live Egypt,” he said.
