CAIRO - 3 November 2022: Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population announced its plan to secure the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) set to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, confirming the great coordination between the various parties.

As part of the plan, a mini-hospital and several clinics have been established in the main halls, and additional clinics have been set up in the hotels, in addition to deploying numerous equipped ambulances.

The field hospital is equipped with four beds for emergency cases; 20 medium care beds for the internal department; four intensive care beds; an integrated operating room; a room with an X-ray unit, TV and CT; a laboratory for medical tests; and a pharmacy.

Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital has also been well equipped and has been provided by a new cardiac catheterization unit.

A total of 8,000 employees and food workers in Sharm El-Sheikh were vaccinated against hepatitis A virus, the ministry said.

Egyptian Foreign Minister and COP27 President Designate Sameh Shoukry stated that Egypt is ready to host the world leaders, delegates and climate stakeholders under the slogan "Together for Implementation".

This announcement was made from Sharm El-Sheikh, as the minister and the Egyptian team are following up the final preparations ahead of COP27.

With the participation of over 30,000 delegates, the COP27 will convene in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, from November 6-18, when the meetings with the UNFCCC and Presidency Designate officials will be held, the COP27 communication center said in a statement on Thursday.
