CAIRO- 21 October 2022: The COP 27 is quite vital for the UK where the COP 27 was hosted [in Glasgow] and this is the first time to hold this conference in the Middle East, said Rosie Dyas, the UK Government Arabic Spokesperson to the Middle East and North Africa, while she was on a faloka (boat) in the Nile in Egypt.

Climate change is one of the main challenges that we are facing. I am concerned about the impacts of climate change on the region, she took to Twitter, noting that the cooperation between the UK and the countries of the MENA region could push forwards to collective climate action.

The Egyptian authorities are working around the clock to host, on behalf of the African continent, the COP 27. This year's international gathering aims to establish legally binding commitments for developed countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Egypt focuses on urgent and priority issues in the African continent, in particular, and in developing countries in general, such as adaptation and climate finance.
