CAIRO – 11 September 2022: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry received, on Saturday, a phone call from Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, during which they discussed a number of files related to bilateral relations and issues of common concernq raised on the regional and international arenas.

 

The two ministers discussed means to advance bilateral relations between Egypt and India, said Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid.

 

Both sides agreed to promote mutual consultation and coordination during the coming period, including arranging bilateral meetings between the two ministers, the timing of which will be agreed upon in the coming weeks, Abu Zeid added.

 

Abu Zeid continued that Minister Shoukry was keen to express Egypt's aspiration for India's participation at the highest possible level in the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Sharm El-Sheikh, emphasizing the important role India plays in the field of climate change.
