CAIRO - 20 August 2022: A total of 87,826 addicts received treatment services during the first 7 months of the current year, according to Egypt's Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse.
The official page of the fund published an infograph on Facebook about the efforts of the fund's hotline "16023" during the past 7 months.
The addiction patients visited the treatment centers affiliated with the Fund or throught the hotline. There are a total of 28 addiction treatment centers in 17 governorates so far, including 9,406 patients.
The services varied between calls for follow-up, advice, treatment, rehabilitation and community integration. These treatment services are provided to patients free of charge and in accordance with international standards and in complete secrecy.
The percentage of males who received these services was 94.71 percent, while the percentage of females was 5.29 percent.
