CAIRO – 26 July 2022: Ministers of trade and industry from Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, and Bahrain have agreed on 12 “top priority” projects within the framework of the industrial partnership initiative bringing the four countries together.

Bahrain has recently joined the Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Growth, which was launched late in May to encourage the launch of joint projects between the parties of the initiative in various fields.

This includes the fields of agriculture, pharmaceuticals, textiles, minerals and petrochemicals.

Chairing the meeting in Cairo, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said he and the ministers have agreed on 12 “top priority” projects out of 26 projects that have been reviewed, urging considering the other projects quickly.

Madbouli affirmed that increasing the number of projects between the four countries is in their joint benefit.

The prime minister urged the ministers of the initiative to consider the topics being discussed in the meetings as a “matter of life and death” for the four countries given the importance of translating cooperation protocols into projects on the ground.

Madbouli expressed his hope that the projects would come to light as soon as possible for the benefit of the peoples of our countries.

Attendees were Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea, Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Youssef Al-Shamali, Emirati Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber, and Bahraini Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed Al-Zayani.

Late in May, Egypt, Jordan and the UAE signed the “Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development,” as per which the Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company PJSC (ADQ) will allocate an investment fund of $10 billion.

"We rely a lot on the initiative to contribute to promoting investment and increasing trade exchange between the countries of Jordan, the UAE and Egypt, which will contribute to providing job opportunities and achieving the aspired economic growth,” said Shamali in June. 

The partnership focuses on strategic goals which include advancing industries capable of holding competitions and attaining sustainable development.
