CAIRO – 19 June 2022: A number of models of innovation projects implemented by Egyptian universities will be presented at the COP 27 conference due to be held in Sharm El Sheikh on November 6-18, 2022, said the Egyptian Ministry of Environment in a statement on Sunday.

 

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar shed light on the importance of science and scientists in achieving adaptation goals and reducing the effects of climate change, within the framework of achieving sustainable development goals on climate action.

 

In his meeting with Minister of environment Yasmine Fouad, Abdel-Ghaffar said Higher Education Ministry will provide all means of financial support for the “COP 27” conference, through the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, the Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority, and the Fund for Innovators and Geniuses.

 

Fouad stressed the importance of the participation of university youth from Egyptian and African students in the activities of the upcoming “COP 27” climate conference in all areas related to climate change, noting that civil society is scheduled to participate in the part of the green zone within Conference.

 

The meeting also tackled the preparation of Sharm El Sheikh city in the medical sector based on green technology.
