CAIRO – 13 July 2017: On Thursday the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry welcomed the director-general of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) David Satterfield.

During the meeting, Satterfield praised Egypt's unremitting efforts in battling extremist terrorism, offering his condolences to the victims of last week's terrorist attack in North Sinai, according to a press release by the ministry.

Moreover, Satterfield announced that his current visit to Egypt is the last official visit he will make as the director of the MFO, as he is approaching the end of his term in August.

He offered his gratitude to the Egyptian leadership for facilitating the forces' duties during his tenure, the statement added.

Shoukry, for his part, praised the vital and important role that the MFO plays in the Sinai, emphasizing their efficiency and professionalism in proceeding with the responsibilities they take in warding off terrorism.
