CAIRO – 21 March 2022: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received Sunday Ugandan Land Force Commander Lieutenant-General Muhoosi Kainerugaba asserting that "history and experience prove that the path of cooperation, building, and development always paves the way for success and prosperity unlike that of problems and crises, which wastes the resources of nations and drains their energy."

The press statement elaborated that the president underscored the great potential of cooperation among Nile Basin countries. In that context, President Sisi commended the joint Egyptian-Ugandan record of advocating for Africa's interests, and voicing its issues.

The chief of state also welcomed military cooperation between Egypt and Uganda so as the latter can take part in the training courses held by the Egyptian Armed Forces. That is in addition to bolstering bilateral ties, and coordination and consultation over African issues.

On his side, the Ugandan commander expressed his country's desire to collaborate with Egypt in the military and security realms. He also expressed appreciations for Egypt's technical support to Uganda in various developmental fields.  Kainerugaba further described the Egyptian role as pivotal in supporting peace, stability, and development on the continent.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki, and the Ugandan military attache in Cairo.
