FM Shoukry meets with UN envoy to Middle East peace process

CAIRO - 4 November 2021: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Thursday with UN envoy to the Middle East peace process Tor Wennesland to discuss means of boosting the peace path.

Shoukry affirmed to Wennesland Egypt’s unwavering stance on supporting the Palestinian cause and backing the rights of the Palestinian people, a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry read.

Last May, Shoukry received a phone call from Wennesland before a Security Council consultation session on the dangerous developments in Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories at the time.
