Egyptian army concludes joint exercises with each of Russia and Sudan

CAIRO – 28 October 2021: The Egyptian Armed Forces announced concluding separate joint exercises with each of Russia and Sudan on Thursday.

In a statement, the army announced concluding the joint Egyptian-Sudanese exercise “Guardian of the South 1” carried out by elements of the Egyptian Border Guard Corps and Sudanese infantry personnel.

The exercise included the task of securing borders over many days at Mohamed Naguib military base.

The exercise came within the framework of the two countries’ exercise plan to enhance military cooperation and partnership between them and to support efforts of security and stability in the region.

The Egyptian-Russian exercise “Friendship Guardians 5” was also concluded today with the participation of Egyptian paratroopers and Russian Airborne Troops.
