CAIRO – 8 October 2021: “Egyptian vaccination certificates are now recognized in the UK for those wishing to travel from Egypt,” announced the British Ambassador to Egypt Gareth Bayley on Friday.

In a message on Twitter, Bayley said the UK is welcoming travelers from Egypt after it was removed from the UK red list, adding that the kingdom has recognized Egyptian vaccination certificates of those who fully-vaccinated travelers.

Starting from Monday, the 11th of October, the traveler will no longer have to be self-isolated or in quarantine, he said, adding that no PRC tests are required anymore before leaving Egypt.

The travelers should be vaccinated with (AztraZenca, Modern, Pfizer, or Johnson) fourteen days before their arrivals in the UK, he continued.

In September 2021, the UK Transport Secretary announced that Egypt among other eight countries would be taken off the red list starting October 4th.

Removing Egypt from the red list means that travelers will no longer have to stay in hotel quarantine, and PCR tests will no longer be required for fully vaccinated travelers returning to England.

UK’s Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said that the purpose of the travel update is to make it easier to travel without the bureaucracy, without so many tests, and with a greater level of certainty now that we've got so many people vaccinated.
