CAIRO – 1 October 2021: The Ministry of health will launch a mobile application to record the number of citizens who were vaccinated against Coronavirus in Egypt, and those who were not yet, according to Undersecretary of Ministry of Health Mohamed Abdel Fattah.

The application will ask the users whether they got the vaccination or not, labeled in three different colors; the red color meaning that they did not receive the vaccine, the yellow indicates that they received one dose, and the green reveals they are fully vaccinated (meaning they received the two doses).

The to-be-launched application shows the efforts Egypt is making to incorporate digital transformation into its public services.

Undersecretary of Ministry of Health Mohamed Abdel Fattah added in TV remarks that the vaccination “helps prevent infection with the virus, and in case a person is infected, the symptoms will be minor.”

After vaccinating the medical staff, Egypt began phase 2 of vaccination against Coronavirus for the elderly and those with chronic diseases in March, and launched a website for citizens to register their names and apply to get jabbed across the republic.

As study kicked off at universities and schools this term, students aged above 18 years old and academic staff are obliged to receive the vaccination ahead of offline attendance of school this year.
