CAIRO - 30 September 2021: Egypt has received more than 100,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine AstraZeneca in donation from the government of Poland, said the Polish Foreign Ministry in a statement on Wednesday.

“The donation of vaccines to Egypt is an expression of solidarity with an important Polish partner in North Africa,” the statement said.

Last week, the Greek government supported Egypt with 250,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine “AstraZeneca.”  Also, a total of 850,560 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine offered by Germany arrived in Cairo on September 21, 2021.

Egypt’s Health Minister Hala Zayed said the country has received a total of 33.657 million doses of AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Sinopharm, Sputnik V and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

Egypt also plans to release 1.926 million doses of the locally-made Sinovac vaccine between 18 to 24 September.
