CAIRO - 25 September 2021: In order to promote cultural exchange between Egypt and South Korea, the Korean Cultural Center held a cultural day for the audience of the Egyptian Public Library in Port Said yesterday under the title " Korean Cultural Caravan “
 
Amid anti-covid-19 precausionary measures, the Korean Cultural Caravan began at 1 p.m, with an audience over 600 people.

The Caravan included the an exhibition of Korean traditional culture, food, movie screenings of two films "Birthday" and "Honest Candidate", as well as painting workshop and three lectures on the basics of Korean language.

Mamdouh Al-Tabei, Director of Masr Public Library in Port Said, expressed his happiness at holding the Cultural Caravan, noting that there is a wide popularity of Korean culture in Port Said.

He appreciates all cooperation programs between the library and the Korean cultural center, saying that we are looking forward for organizing Korean language courses which has a great interest in Port Said. 
 
He explained that the center provided a great opportunity for library patrons to learn about Korean culture.

The Korean Cultural Center launched its first cultural caravan in 2017 but was suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19. In light of the stable health situation in Egypt, it was reorganized and the beginning was the Caravan in Port Said, which was chosen this year as the capital of Egyptian culture. 
 
The Center plans to organize cultural caravans in many Egyptian provinces to provide glimpses of traditional and contemporary Korean culture in order to strengthen cultural exchange between Egypt and South Korea while enhancing mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
 
The attendees, some of whom came from other distant cities, praised the Cultural Caravan which  introduced basic glimpses of Korean culture.
