CAIRO – 8 September 2021: Egypt sent three military aircrafts, Wednesday carrying urgent humanitarian aid to Sudan ending an air bridge that was extended over the two past days, according to Egyptian military spokesman.
The aircrafts were loaded with tons of humanitarian aid to help alleviate burdens on Sudanese citizens.
The aid is offered by the Defense Ministry and the Egyptian Red Crescent Society upon directives by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to support the Sudanese people at times of conflict and hardships.
Khartoum has, meanwhile, voiced gratitude and appreciation for efforts exerted by Cairo to help the Sudanese people.
The aid reflects strong historical ties between Egypt and Sudan.
On Monday, Egypt operated the second air bridge of humanitarian aid to Sudan sending tons of food and blankets, spokesperson of the Egyptian Armed Forces stated.
"Sudanese officials praised the aid that strengthens the fraternal relations between the two brotherly peoples, stressing their full appreciation for the efforts made by the Egyptian government and its people, and such efforts represent a great place in the mindsets of the Sudanese people, which contributes to deepening the historical relations between Egypt and Sudan," the press statement indicates.
