Egypt condoles with Niger, Burkina Faso over terrorist attacks

CAIRO – 19 August 2021:  Egypt has expressed its sincere condolences to Niger and Burkina Faso over the victims of two attacks that took place near the borders between the two countries, leaving large of victims and injuries.

In a press statement issued, Thursday, Egypt asserted its support for the governments and peoples of the two countries in such tragic incident.

The statement also reiterated Cairo's full solidarity with the two countries and condemned all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism.

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also strongly condemned the terrorist attack carried out by militants in western Niger.

The OIC's Secretary General, Yousef al Othaimeen, expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Niger.

The General Secretariat reiterated the firm position of the OIC, which condemns terrorism in all its forms, affirming its full solidarity with the authorities in the Republic of Niger in their fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
