CAIRO – 10 July 2021: Members of the Executive Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) will pay a visit next October, announced the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture in a statement.
 
The preparations for the visit were discussed between Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Sayyed el- Quseir and IFAD Regional Director for the Near East, North Africa, Central Asia, and Europe (NEN) Dina Saleh in a meeting, the ministry added.
 
Both officials also discussed the executive situation of agricultural projects funded by IFAD in Egypt.
 
In February 2021, Egypt has been re-elected as a member of the IFAD Executive Board for another four-year term (2021- 2024), said Egyptian Ambassador in Rome Hesham Badr in a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry.
  
The election was conducted during the 44th session of the IFAD Governing Council, in which the Egyptian delegation -led by Egyptian Minister Quseir- participated,
 
IFAD has financed rural development projects in Egypt, with a total value of $ 1.12 billion, targeted nearly 1.5 million Egyptian rural beneficiaries since 1979.
