CAIRO – 23 June 2021: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his German counterpart Heiko Maas, discussed Wednesday latest regional developments in the MENA region, including the situation in Libya, Palestine and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

Spokesperson Ambassador Ahmed Hafez said that the two officials met at the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and reiterated ‘distinguished’ relations binding the two countries on all fronts over the past years.

Hafez said the two sides are looking forward to maintaining this cooperation and boosting it to wider horizons.

Hafez further said the pair tackled a number of bilateral cooperation files in the different economic, health and energy sectors.

They also exchanged viewpoints on the latest regional developments and ways of finding solutions to crises facing the region.

Shoukry agreed with Maas on the need to continue coordination and consultation in all bilateral, regional and international files and issues of mutual concern to both countries, according to Hafez
