CAIRO – 29 April 2021: Egyptian Armed Forces’ Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid on Thursday inspected the security situation in North Sinai and checked the army and police personnel in the area, a statement by the military spokesman, Tamer El-Refae, read.

Farid made a visit to the permanent operations center in Arish city and listened to a detailed explanation of the plans and the decisions the army and police personnel are carrying out to uproot terrorism and preserve stability in North Sinai.

Meeting with a number of army fighters, Farid conveyed the greeting of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Defense Minister Mohamed Farid for the efforts the army personnel make and the sacrifices they introduce.

The statement these efforts helped restore security and create a suitable climate for investments and comprehensive development in Sinai.

Farid extended his greeting to the army personnel on the Sinai Liberation Day.

Farid held talks with military commanders, officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers, during which he voiced his confidence in their ability to execute their tasks with strength to preserve the security of North Sinai.

He also toured the New Rafah city and met with the North Sinai governor, security officials and citizens and dwellers of Sheikh Zuweid city.
