CAIRO – 25 April 2021: President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi laid a wreath of flowers at the Unknown Soldier Memorial in Cairo’s Nasr City district on Sunday in commemoration of Sinai Liberation Day.

“In memory of the liberation of Sinai, I salute the Egyptian people in reverence and appreciation. They have proven in all stages of life their ability to achieve what they want regardless of the obstacles and impediments,” Sisi said in a statement.

“The liberation of Sinai was the product of a striving and a long struggle that the Egyptian people went through, for the land for us is sanctity, honor, dignity, and the most sacred of holies that we will never abandon. May God protect Egypt, its people, and its army,” Sisi added.
