Manpower Ministry follows up the case of Egyptian stabbed in Kuwait

CAIRO – 22 April 2021: Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan announced he is following up closely on the case of an Egyptian citizen stabbed in Kuwait.

 

The Egyptian national, Emile Isaac Mhana Garas works in Kuwait, was tasked two months ago to install curtains at a caravan for a Kuwaiti man called Abdel Aziz Mohamed el-Barweishy. When Mahanna finished the task, the Kuwaiti citizen asked for amendments but the Egyptian rejected because he did not receive his fees.

 

The Kuwaiti waited for the Egyptian national outside the latter’s workplace, and suddenly attacked him with insults, and tried to enter the Egyptian’s car under duress, and when the victim resisted, the Kuwaiti stabbed him in his left shoulder with a knife and fled the scene.

 

The Egyptian national, Emile Mhanna, was taken to Farwaniya hospital, where he undergone an operation. He is expected to leave the hospital Thursday evening after conducting necessary medical examinations, and a police report is filed about the incident.

 

Emile Mhanna comes from Upper Egypt’s governorate of Minya, and has worked as a driver in Kuwait for five years.

 

For his part, Minister Saafan affirmed all necessary support and assistance is provided to the Egyptian citizen Emile Mahanna, adding that Kuwait is a country of law, and not one will be wronged. The head of the Egyptian Labor Representation Office in Kuwait was assigned to follow up on the case.
