Egypt registers 823 new coronavirus cases with 39 deaths Tuesday

CAIRO - 14 April 2021: Egypt has detectd 823 coronavirus cases on Tuesday, upping the total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak in the country began to 212,130.

In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 39 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 12,526.

As many as 432 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 160,431 so far, the spokesman said.

Egypt’s Ministry of Health stressed the importance of committing to covid-19’s precautionary measures during the holy month of Ramadan.

The Ministry called on citizens to avoid crowded places such as stores and malls, as an opportunity to increase the spread of the coronavirus, especially in Ramadan, due to shopping and visits between families and friends.

This comes along with the ongoing nationwide vaccination plan the country has started since January.
