Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli inspects a route of a parade of royal mummies that will take place on Saturday - Cabinet

CAIRO - 2 April 2021: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has inspected a route of a parade of royal mummies that will take place on Saturday.

The royal mummies - 18 mummies of kings and four of queens - will be moved in a massive golden parade from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square to their final destination at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat in Old Cairo.

Flanked by Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled el Anani and Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal, the prime minister checked on the final preparations for the world-class event.

Madbouli made sure that route was ready for the procession that will be passing through the streets of Cairo. He was reassured that decorations and visual dazzling effects are in place along the route of the journey.

Madbouli also arrived at the museum in Fustat to inspect preparations for receiving the mummies at their destination where they will be put on display.
