Free Trade Agreement
These discussions took place at the “Conference on Korea–Egypt Economic Partnership and Cooperation,” co-hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Egypt and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), at the Nile Ritz-Carlton in Cairo on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. The event was organized to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations, review past achievements, and outline a concrete vision for future cooperation.
"The conclusion of this agreement will contribute to increasing the rates of trade exchange and joint investments between the two countries in the coming period," Minister of Trade and Industry, Ahmed Samir, said.
The document was signed by Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar and Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission Veronika Nikishina.
COMESA, SADC and EAC are expected to implement free trade agreement.
Trade volume between Egypt and Mercosur countries (Brazil-Argentine-Uruguay-Paraguay) during the last year reached $ 5.3 billion.
President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and Uruguayan President Tabaré Vázquez stressed the importance of expanding trade relations and encouraging bilateral investments.
The National Congress of Argentina has ratified Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Egypt and Mercosur (South American Common Market).
