Persons with Disabilities
In statements to MENA on Friday, Qabbaj added some 5,000 volunteers are taking part in the campaign's third phase that includes the governorates of Cairo, Giza, Qalyoubia, Ismailia, Sharqia, North Sinai, South Sinai, Suez, Qena, Sohag, Alexandria, Menoufia, Gharbia, , Daqahlia and Kafr El-Sheikh. This phase runs throughout August and may last till September.
A person or child with a disability is considered at risk, according to Article 46 of the law, which punishes any case of threatening respect for personal dignity and autonomy of persons with special needs, or discriminating against them on the basis of disability.
Since President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi initiative to declare 2018 as the year of those challenged with a disability, numerous efforts and decisions have been taken to assure them proper living conditions.
