The Egyptian peacekeepers, part of the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali (MINUSMA) were killed as their armored personnel carrier hit an improvised explosive device near Douentza town in central Mali’s Mopti region, the UN says.
The African Peace and Security Council unanimously adopted the "Cairo Road Map to Strengthen UN Peacekeeping Operations" document.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the attacks, offering his condolences to the peoples and governments of Egypt and Mali, according to a statement from the UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric.
