According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance on Monday, these achievements occurred between May 2019 and November 2023, with a total of 607.3 million electronic payments transactions.
The government electronic revenue rose by 223 percent by the end of July, compared to the same month last year, Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet said in a statement, adding that it reflects continuous state efforts to develop the electronic payment and collection system.
CBE said that it would bear the cost of deploying 100 thousand POS devices nationwide till December 2020.
