Female Judges
The batch includes 207 members, including 48 female judges. This historic step reflects the state's commitment to empowering women and strengthening their representation in the judiciary, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The appointed female judges will occupy a position of (delegate) or a position of (deputy) in the Council.
The decision came upon President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives on International Women Day regarding the empowerment of women.
Member of Parliament Ehab al-Khouli has said he will propose legislative amendments to the State Council law so that it allows the appointment of women in the prestigious judicial body.
