Egyptian Petroleum Minister
The discovery was made in an offshore concession operated by Italy’s Eni in partnership with Britain’s BP, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources reported on Saturday.
Petroleum Minister Tarek el Mulla discussed with French Ambassador to Egypt Stephane Romatet prospects of boosting cooperation and partnership between the petroleum sector and French companies, in light of Egypt's promising oil and gas opportunities.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the minister said the meeting tackled ways of boosting cooperation in the coming period given the Ukrainian company's willingness to take part in the projected oil and gas tenders.
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el Mulla on Wednesday presided over a meeting of the governmental committee that is formed by a decision of the prime minister to turn Egypt into a regional center for energy.
