Before this amendment, this appropriate representation was only granted in the first Parliament formation after the 2014 Constitution came into effect.
The Egyptian Parliament has approved an amendment to an article in the constitution setting the number of MPs at 568 and giving women a quota of 25 percent of seats.
The National Elections Commission announced on Tuesday, Dec. 25the results of the parliamentary complementary elections for the three vacant seats in the Egyptian House, deciding a runoff in January.
