King Djoser
Renowned archaeologist and former Minister of Antiquities Zahi Hawass noted that the mission discovered statues of King Djoser, along with his wife and ten daughters, according to a statement by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities on Friday.
The tomb was closed for 15 years and was reopened after completing renovation works on September 14.
Egyptian archaeologists uncovered a statuette of Osiris while performing restoration works on the eastern side of the King Djoser Step Pyramid in Saqqara.
