El-Sisi and Macron met in Alexandria ahead of the inauguration of the new headquarters of Senghor University, a French-speaking international university dedicated to supporting development in Africa.
In her keynote address, Minister Al-Mashat emphasized the enduring strength of Egyptian-Japanese relations and their shared commitment to addressing development challenges. “Egyptian-Japanese partnerships reflect the importance of collaborative efforts to tackle development challenges,” Al-Mashat stated, highlighting the alignment of shared visions and priorities that have driven progress across key sectors.
Ambassador Kim also mentioned that during the "Korea-Africa Summit" held last June, Korea raised the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) ceiling for Egypt from USD 1 billion to USD 3 billion, further strengthening their development cooperation.
Economic reforms recently adopted by Cairo have paved the way for a new phase of economic relations with Beirut, Kabil said.
