Just north of Sharm El-Sheikh, the Nabq Protectorate preserves a unique coastal forest that shouldn't technically exist this far north.The Shura (mangrove) groves of Nabq stretch for 4.5 kilometers along the coast, acting as a vital nursery for economic fish species and a sanctuary for the rare osprey and spoonbill.
Egypt’s Nature Protection Sector carried out a cleanup and awareness campaign at Nabq Protected Area in South Sinai, in coordination with local authorities, to preserve the site’s biodiversity and promote environmental sustainability, the Environment Ministry said on Friday.
The line links Sharm El-Sheikh to Saudi Duba Port to facilitate the trip of Arab tourists coming to South Sinai, Dahab and Nabq.
