Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held phone conversations with his counterparts from Kenya, Guinea-Bissau, and the Republic of the Congo on Thursday, January 9, 2025, to discuss ways to enhance security and stability in the East African region.
Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's readiness to transfer Egyptian expertise to support Congo in activating the 2022-2026 National Development Plan, which includes several sectors, most notably agriculture, tourism, and the development of special economic zones.
Fourteen United Nations peacekeepers have been killed and more than 40 wounded in attack in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
