Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Tamim Khallaf said that Abdelatty lauded the current momentum in Egyptian-Mali ties, especially in light of the two countries' keenness to elevate bilateral relations to higher prospects.
In his speech, Abdelatty emphasized that this training course is the first of its kind between Egypt and Romania on the topic of reconstruction, highlighting the existing coordination on matters of common interest. He noted that this initiative reflects the significant interest both countries have in their relations with African nations, particularly in the Sahel region, and in reconstruction and development efforts following conflicts.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 78th United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York, said Egyptian Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a statement.
UN's Guterres warned Monday that Africa's Sahel region was descending into all-out violence and said the UN must help the region face militants threat.
