Egypt has started its multinational military exercise “Bright Star” on 2 September with the participation of 21 countries to enhance security ties with the countries involved.
Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Mohamed Farid attended Wednesday the main stage of a joint military drill dubbed "Saif Al Arab," - "Sword of Arabs".
The training comes within the framework of the efforts made by Egypt and the Armed Forces to enhance the fighting capabilities of the Sahel-Saharan States.
Return of biannual military exercises between Egypt and the U.S., after an eight-year hiatus is good for Egypt-U.S. military relations, said Pentagon spokesman.
Egyptian military forces and U.S. Central Command announced on Tuesday that the "Bright Star 2017" will be held from September 10 to 20.
