The IRGC’s Ansar al-Mahdi unit in Zanjan province said demolition teams had entered a contaminated area to identify and neutralize unexploded munitions left over from recent airstrikes when a deadly explosion occurred.
The IRGC said the strike came as part of ongoing operations in response to the US-Israeli strikes, adding that the Iranian armed forces’ campaign had “entered a new phase.”
